Terms and Conditions

Last updated: May 2026

1. Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using the Nyholm Learning website (nyholmlearning.com) or purchasing any of our courses, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.

These terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Nyholm Learning, operated by Sissel Nyholm, Denmark. We reserve the right to update these terms at any time. Continued use of our services after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance.

2. Our services

Nyholm Learning provides structured, self-paced online Danish language courses. Our courses consist of video lessons, quizzes, downloadable practice materials, and assessments aligned to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

We also offer a free CEFR placement test, which is provided as-is without any guarantee of accuracy for official assessment purposes. The result is intended as a guide to help you choose the right starting course.

3. Course access and lifetime access policy

Upon purchasing a course, you receive lifetime access to all course materials, including any future updates to that course. "Lifetime access" means access for as long as Nyholm Learning operates and the course remains available on our platform.

Access is granted to the individual purchaser only and may not be shared, transferred, or resold. You may access your course content on any personal device.

4. Payment terms

  • All courses are sold for a one-time payment in euros (EUR).
  • Payment is processed securely through Stripe. We do not store payment card details.
  • VAT may apply depending on your country of residence, in accordance with EU VAT regulations.
  • Course access is granted immediately upon successful payment.
  • Prices are subject to change; the price displayed at checkout is the price you pay.

5. Refund policy

We want you to be satisfied with your purchase. Our refund policy is as follows:

  • You may request a full refund within 14 days of purchase, provided you have not accessed any course content (lessons, quizzes, or downloadable materials).
  • Once you access any course content, you are no longer eligible for a refund. By accessing content, you explicitly waive your 14-day right of withdrawal (see Section 6).
  • To request a refund, email us at help@nyholmlearning.com within 14 days of purchase, including your name and order details.
  • Approved refunds are processed within 5–10 business days via the original payment method.

6. Right of withdrawal

Under EU consumer law (Directive 2011/83/EU), you ordinarily have a 14-day right of withdrawal for digital purchases. However, Article 16(m) of that Directive provides that this right is waived once performance of the digital service has begun with your express consent.

At the point of purchase, you are asked to confirm that you understand and agree that accessing any course content constitutes the beginning of performance and that you therefore waive your right of withdrawal from that point.

If you have not accessed any content, you retain your full 14-day right of withdrawal as described in Section 5.

7. Intellectual property

All content on nyholmlearning.com — including video lessons, audio, course materials, quizzes, PDF resources, graphics, and text — is owned by Nyholm Learning / Sissel Nyholm and is protected by copyright.

Your purchase grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access and use the course content for your own private learning. You may not:

  • Copy, reproduce, or redistribute any course content
  • Share your login credentials with others
  • Upload or share course materials on any platform
  • Use course content for commercial purposes

8. User responsibilities

  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
  • You must not share your account access with any other person.
  • You agree to use our services only for lawful purposes.
  • You agree not to attempt to bypass, disable, or circumvent any security features of the platform.
  • You must provide accurate information when creating an account or making a purchase.

9. Account termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms and Conditions, including but not limited to sharing account access, misusing the platform, or engaging in fraudulent behaviour.

You may request deletion of your account at any time by contacting us at help@nyholmlearning.com. Note that purchase records are retained for 5 years in accordance with Danish accounting law, even after account deletion.

10. Limitation of liability

Our courses are provided to support your language learning journey. We make every effort to deliver high-quality, accurate content, but we cannot guarantee specific learning outcomes, fluency levels, or results from any official language examination.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, our total liability to you in connection with our services is limited to the amount you paid for the course giving rise to the claim.

We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of our services.

11. Governing law and disputes

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Denmark. Any disputes arising from or in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Copenhagen, Denmark.

If you are a consumer located in another EU member state, you retain any mandatory rights afforded to you under the laws of your country of residence. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory consumer rights.

EU consumers may also use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
